American Traveler is hiring a MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a Trauma Level III teaching hospital, serving ED, inpatient, and outpatient populations across a full-service radiology department.

• Work in a full-service radiology department at a 457-bed Trauma Level III teaching hospital with designations including Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence
• Radiology services include X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine with Radiology Nursing support
• Patient population spans ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient settings
• Common diagnoses and study types include neuro deficits, suspected stroke (brain MRI), seizures, prostate cancer, diabetic foot, pancreatic cyst, and IBS/Crohn's disease
• Department serves a large population of patients with medical devices
• Cardiac and pediatric imaging provided, including pediatric cases with anesthesia as needed
• Average of 30–40 patients per day
• Equipment includes a GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist 450W and a Siemens 3T Skyra
• EMR: Epic; RIS: Epic Radiant; PACS: Philips iSite
• 12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• No call or on-call required
• No floating required
• Holiday coverage expected approximately 75% of the time

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• ARRT(R) or NMTCB and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
• Active BLS required
• NC State Licensure not required; license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience
• Ability to perform IV contrast administration per departmental protocols
• Ability to work with adult, pediatric, ED, inpatient, and outpatient populations
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Verifies patient orders, performs two-identifier patient checks, and obtains complete medical and clinical history prior to each exam
• Evaluates image quality and consults with Radiologist as needed; assumes responsibility for the exam through completion of results
• Performs basic patient care functions and initiates life support measures when necessary
• Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogen, isolation, and infection control policies
• Department support includes Guest Services/Transport for inpatient and ED patients, Child Life Services for pediatric patients, and a tech assistant on overnight shifts
• Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed
• A manager interview is required as part of the selection process
• Schedule is set on a 4-week cycle; RTO requires manager approval
• Black scrubs required
• Free parking available on site
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year before being considered
