American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with 3–5 years of experience and active ARRT RT(T) certification for a 13-week travel contract at a university hospital in Washington, D.C.

Details

• Full-time day shift position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
• Weekend call coverage may be required
• 8-hour shifts in a hospital Radiation Oncology department
• Utilizes Linear Accelerator, CT Simulator, ADAC Treatment Planning System, and VARIS System
• Work is performed under the direction of a radiation oncologist alongside physics personnel

Requirements

• Active ARRT RT(T) certification required
• Texas Department of State Health Services Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) credential required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• CPI certification required
• 3–5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist required
• Minimum 2 years of prior work experience in a U.S. hospital in the specialty area required
• Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy preferred
• Active license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Valid U.S. SSN required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for daily treatment of patients using ionizing radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist
• Performs daily warm-up and quality assurance of the treatment machine and CT simulator
• Collaborates with radiation oncologists and physics personnel during simulation and treatment planning
• Ensures accurate transfer of patient data to relevant team members for dose calculation
• Verifies that standard treatment protocols are followed and all processes are signed off by the radiation oncologist, including isodose plans, calculations, and clinical documentation
• Provides education and information to patients and family members regarding the planning and delivery of radiation treatment
• Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to qualify for this travel assignment
