American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a Level IV Trauma Center in Kenosha, WI, supporting a diverse surgical case mix including robotics, total joint replacement, and vascular procedures on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.

Details

• Works in the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) of a 74-bed Level IV Trauma Center with a Level II NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation
• Supports a diverse surgical case mix including robotics, total joint replacement, general surgery, vascular, GYN, GU, podiatry, and ENT
• Monday–Friday, 10:00–18:30 (8-hour day shift)
• On-call rotation required every 3rd weekend, beginning end of shift Friday through Monday at 06:00
• Holidays covered on a rotating basis
• Floating required to a nearby ASC (Racine)
• Charts in Epic

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• No BLS or specialty certification required for SPT role
• License required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include decontamination, assembly and packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
• Operates steam, low-temperature, and other sterilization modalities; performs and documents all required quality assurance testing
• Assembles complex surgical trays including specialty and high-cost instrumentation, and escalates damaged or missing instruments appropriately
• Collaborates with OR and Surgery Center teams to prioritize urgent and add-on cases and support on-time case starts
• Scrubs provided by the facility

• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• Orientation consists of at least 1 shift to learn department flow
