American Traveler seeks a Cardiovascular OR Surgical Tech with 2-3 years of CVOR experience for a hospital CVOR position at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL.

Details

• Work in a hospital CVOR setting with 15 total OR suites, including 2 dedicated cardiovascular rooms
• Cardiovascular patient population including open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• EMR: Cerner (Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors also in use)
• Day shift schedule, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 8-hour shifts at 40 hours per week
• On-call required approximately 10–12 days per month with a weekend rotation on call
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of CVOR experience required
• Experience with open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and/or ECMO cases required
• BLS certification required; surgical tech certification preferred but not required
• Alabama license required if applicable
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered with at least 2–3 years of relevant experience
• Scrub color is green and scrubs are provided by the facility
• Two-week orientation on day shift; buddy call is expected during the orientation period
• Holiday coverage is expected at least once per contract
• Time-off requests require manager approval and are subject to department scheduling needs
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered for a traveler role at this facility
• The facility conducts interviews prior to extending offers — candidates should be prepared for an interview
• One reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months required for consideration
• DOB (day and month) and copy of certifications required for consideration
• This is a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation
• Unit support includes an OR aide, desk assistant, FAs, charge nurse, and team leaders by service line
• Facility parking is available in a parking deck
