American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist with ARRT certification for a mid-shift position at a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL.

Details

• Work in the main Radiology department of a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
• Inpatient and outpatient cases with adult and occasional pediatric patients (outpatients and ED)
• 1:1 patient ratio with an average of 4 patients per hour (approximately 40 patients per day)
• MRI procedures include head/neck, abdomen, pelvis, spine, extremities, and MRAs
• Equipment includes a Siemens Espree 1.5T MRI unit
• EMR: Cerner
• 8-hour mid shifts, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, 40 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required, typically once a month but subject to change based on departmental needs
• On-call is voluntary
• Floating required throughout different areas of the Radiology department and hospital as needed

Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
• ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT required; state license preferred — license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience accepted for experienced travelers; first-time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
• Proficiency in MRI procedures including head/neck, abdomen, pelvis, spine, extremities, and MRAs
• Experience with Siemens MRI equipment preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit during day shift alongside another technician
• On weekends, MRI is staffed with one tech and possibly a student; two techs are scheduled on Fridays until 7:30 PM
• Centralized transport is available Monday–Friday 6:30 AM–5:30 PM and Saturday–Sunday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; the ER is the primary weekend focus and techs may transport patients to and from the department
• One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage required per hospital policy; scheduling for specific holidays is not guaranteed in advance
• Requests for more than 7 days of time off require email approval from the manager; contract extension may be required to accommodate PTO
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Free parking is available on site
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered for a travel position
• A reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months is required for consideration, along with copies of certifications and DOB (day and month)
