American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Level I trauma experience for a night shift position in a busy, Magnet-designated academic medical center OR covering a wide range of surgical specialties.

Details

• Work in a Level I trauma center, academic teaching, Magnet-designated hospital with 21 OR suites
• Cases include Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (craniotomy, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, and GU/GYN
• Travelers may be expected to scrub across the full variety of cases supported by the Main OR
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities, is required
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM with rotating weekends and holiday rotation
• No on-call requirement
• Charting is performed in Epic
• Radiation badge required (must be provided by the agency)
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of OR CST experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• NBSTSA CST certification required — NCCT certification is not accepted
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Experience with Neuro (spine/craniotomy), ENT (flaps), and Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) cases is highly preferred
• License required if applicable
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• The facility prioritizes non-local candidates; local candidates (within 60 miles) are considered on a case-by-case basis
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• The OR team consists of approximately 75% RNs (trained to both scrub and circulate) and 25% CSTs
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
• On-site parking is available for a one-time $20 registration fee for a hang tag granting access to the designated garage; parking outside the designated garage may incur additional fees
