American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of IR Body/IR Neuro experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center for a position at an academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Details

• Large academic medical center with 885 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma designation, and Comprehensive Stroke, Chest Pain, and Stroke Center designations
• 8-room Interventional Radiology department averaging 45–50 cases per day
• Patient population includes stroke, cancer, tumors, and peripheral/carotid/IVC/SVC occlusions; Neuro cases include strokes, ruptures, and subdural fistulas; Body cases include traumas, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90/SIR-Spheres, biopsies, and drainage/access procedures
• Staffed by 4 Neuro providers (1 Neuroradiologist, 3 Neurosurgeons) and 7 Body physicians with 4 APPs
• Scheduling options include 3x12-hour shifts (0800–1830), 4x10-hour shifts (0800–1830), or 5x8-hour shifts (0800–1630)
• Call required 3–4 days per month; weekend call every 5th–6th weekend (Friday ~1630 through Monday 0800)
• Holiday coverage expected 75% of the time; must work if scheduled
• No floating requirement
• EMR: Epic Encompass
• Imaging equipment includes Siemens, GE, and Philips systems, as well as GE ultrasound units

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience specific to IR Body and/or IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Current BLS required
• ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
• Active license required, if applicable
• Experience scrubbing and circulating in IR procedures
• Experience with imaging systems (Siemens, GE, Philips) preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must provide last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and assisting in procedures as well as circulating — operating equipment and providing needed supplies
• Department team includes tech extenders (2 per day) who assist with room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory; 2 techs per room alongside an RN
• Up to 2 weeks of orientation provided
• Schedule is set on a 4–6 week cycle; RTO requests require manager approval
• Department culture includes new grads and preceptorship — candidates should be comfortable working alongside and mentoring newer staff
• Hospital-provided scrubs; free parking on-site

• Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
