American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR/Neuro IR experience at a Level 1 Trauma facility for a position at a large academic medical center and comprehensive stroke center.

Details

• Work in a 10-room Interventional Radiology department at a 885-bed Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Patient population includes stroke, cancer, tumors, and blocked vessels (peripheral, carotid, IVC, SVC, etc.), as well as complex Neuro cases (ruptures, subdural fistulas) and Body cases (complex bleeds, oncology services, abscess drains)
• Department averages 46–50 cases per day
• 2 techs assigned per case/room
• EMR: Epic Encompass (experience preferred)
• Imaging equipment includes Siemens, GE, and Philips systems, as well as GE ultrasound units
• 8-hour day shifts with an 0800 start time, 40 hours per week
• On-call requirement of 1 day per week from 1600 until the last case is complete
• Weekend rotation every 7th–8th weekend, covering Friday at 1600 through Monday morning until the last case is complete
• Must be available to work holidays if scheduled (75% holiday coverage required)
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience specific to IR and/or Neuro IR at a Level 1 Trauma facility
• Most recent experience must be within the last year
• Current BLS required
• ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
• Active license required, if applicable
• Proficiency in scrubbing, assisting, and circulating for IR procedures
• Strong knowledge of IR-specific equipment and imaging systems
• Must be comfortable working alongside new graduates and assisting with preceptorship when needed
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Perform and assist with a wide range of IR procedures including stroke intervention, neuro cases, oncology-related procedures (liver and other cancers), peripheral and carotid vascular interventions, IVC/SVC work, abscess drains, and complex body bleeds
• Department is supported by 4 Neuro providers (1 Neuro Radiologist and 3 Neurosurgeons) and 5 Body physicians
• Tech extenders are on staff to assist with transport and inventory (2 per day)
• Orientation is up to 2 weeks based on experience and comfort level
