American Traveler is seeking a travel Sterile Processing Technician with at least 2 years of experience and prior travel experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital in Missouri.

Details

• Works in the Sterile Processing department of an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule: 5x8 hours, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends required
• Must work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Mandatory floating for all travelers, including potential assignment as a Patient Observer (Sitter)
• Processes specialty equipment across multiple surgical service lines including ENT, laparoscopic, OB/GYN, orthopedics, plastics, robotics, urology, vascular, and general surgery
• Works with decontamination equipment including ultrasonic cleaners and washers/sterilizers
• Uses sterilization monitoring tools including biological and chemical indicators and steam sterilization testing
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience required, with at least 1 year in the specialty
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certification required
• MO or Compact license required if applicable — must be active and in hand at time of consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, case cart management, instrument tray assembly, and proper labeling and wrapping procedures
• Experience with endoscope and scope/probe reprocessing preferred
• Physical ability to ambulate, reach, and lift objects weighing 20 lbs or more

Additional Information

• Perform decontamination, manual cleaning, and chemical disinfection of surgical instruments and specialty equipment
• Assemble and organize instrument sets and trays using preference cards and proper wrapping and sterilization procedures
• Document equipment processing using Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM)
• Facility is open 24/7/365; rotating shifts and holiday coverage are expected
• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are accepted but may be subject to a reduced pay rate
• A 9-month gap between assignments is required to return to this facility as a traveler
• Re-orientation is not required for travelers returning within 18 months
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application — no exceptions
