American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 2 years of experience for an Ambulatory Surgery Unit position at a hospital on Long Island, NY.

Details

• Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) setting in a hospital environment
• Serves all patient age groups, including pediatric patients
• Average daily census of 35 patients with approximately 5 cases per day across 8 OR rooms
• Surgical specialties include bariatrics, general surgery, gynecology, plastics, podiatry, robotics, urology, and pediatric ENT and general surgery
• Robotic surgery cases performed using the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Documents using Epic (experience preferred but not required)
• Medication management via Omnicell
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
• No weekend or on-call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CST experience required
• BLS certification required
• CST credential required
• Valid, active NY state license or tech certification required (license required if applicable)
• COVID vaccination required — no exceptions
• Two managerial references required (Charge RN references are not acceptable)
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Copy of certifications required
• Official diploma copy required for candidates with international degrees
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• No RTO permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; RTO requests are limited to 5 days or fewer
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Scrubs are provided
• Parking is available at no cost via an assigned employee garage
• Background checks are evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• EKG testing may be required and must be completed within 72 hours of signing
