Description

American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room Technician with at least 3 years of experience and an accredited surgical technology education for a 13-week day shift travel assignment.

• Hospital-based Operating Room / Scrub setting
• Day shift schedule
• Travel nurses may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an OR Scrub Technician
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Active BLS certification
• CST certification preferred
• Active state license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Scrub person responsibilities include assembling, organizing, and providing sterile instruments and supplies to the surgical team throughout operative and invasive procedures
• Responsible for maintaining the sterile field and taking corrective actions when sterility is compromised
• Assists with placement of sterile drapes and preparation of sterile dressings
• Performs instrument counts in coordination with the RN circulator
• Cleans and transports surgical instruments to decontamination areas and prepares the OR for subsequent patients
• If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
