American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in New Mexico, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry/PCU experience and prior travel assignment completion.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a hospital setting
• Telemetry and progressive care patient population in an 18+ bed unit
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required

Requirements

• Active RN license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit
• ADN or ASN degree required
• Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents per policy
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• All selected candidates must pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test before beginning the assignment; this test is administered on the first day of orientation
• Candidates who fail the BCA test will have one opportunity to retest — a second failure will result in contract cancellation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
