Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with strong cardiovascular surgery skills for a 13-week travel contract in a hospital CVOR unit in Fort Wayne, IN.

Details

• Hospital CVOR setting with 4 operating rooms dedicated to open heart surgery cases
• 4x10 day shift schedule, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call required as needed
• May float to the main OR as needed
• Cerner EMR (preferred)
• 13-week contract
• Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible
• RTO limited to no more than 1 week for the duration of the contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical technology with strong cardiac surgery skills
• CST certification required from the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
• BLS certification required
• Thoracic da Vinci robotic surgery experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include preparing the surgical field, passing instruments and supplies during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout each case
• Assists with room turnover between surgical cases to maintain efficient case flow
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
