American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of CVOR experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a high-volume hospital CVOR unit in Austin, TX.

Details

• Hospital-based CVOR unit comprising 4–6 ORs, including an endovascular suite, with capacity for four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
• Procedures include coronary artery bypass, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, VAD placement, Impella/IABP placement, adult ECMO, and TAVR in the endovascular OR
• Thoracic cases include laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures; vascular cases range from ESRD graft/fistula placement to endovascular procedures
• Schedule is 3 shifts per week, 11:00 AM–11:30 PM, on weekdays based on department need
• Call coverage required for the service line after normal business hours and on weekends
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of recent, full-time CVOR CST experience in a high-volume hospital setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment with no extensive onboarding required
• At least 2 verifiable references from prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• License required if applicable
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide surgical tech support across routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures in a high-acuity CVOR environment
• First-time travelers are unlikely to meet the reference and experience requirements for this position
• Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced pay rate depending on proximity to the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required by this facility
