American Traveler is seeking a Certified CVOR Surgical Tech with a minimum of 18 months of experience and Level 1 Trauma Center background for a hospital-based cardiovascular OR position in Indiana.

Details

• Hospital-based CVOR unit serving a complex cardiovascular and thoracic patient population
• Procedures include CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, AAA repair, mitral and aortic valve replacement, heart and lung transplant, VAD, robotic-assisted cardiac surgery, laparoscopic cardiac surgery, carotid endarterectomy, atherectomy, pericardial window, cardiomyoplasty, atrial septal defect repair, femoral popliteal bypass graft, aortic dissection, and more
• Responsibilities include receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation
• Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• 4x10-hour day shifts, 11:00–21:00
• Call requirement of 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of CVOR surgical tech experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Vascular and thoracic surgical experience required
• BLS certification from the AHA (AHA and RQI accepted; must be current)
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• IN or Compact license in hand if applicable — license required if applicable
• University must have been accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted provided they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Local candidates are accepted for this Periop/Surgical Services position
• Candidates must be available to cover 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of this facility must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
