Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) with at least 2 years of central sterile experience and CRCST or CBSPD certification for a night shift position at a hospital in Virginia.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (5x8-hour shifts)
• Monday through Friday with weekend and holiday rotations required
• 13-week contract
• Must be willing to work in all areas of the sterile processing department as needed
• Processes instrumentation across multiple service lines including Orthopedics, Podiatry, General (including laparoscopic), Neuro, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, Robotics, Ophthalmology, and Cardiac
• Censitrac instrument tracking system experience preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of central sterile processing experience required
• CRCST or CBSPD certification required
• Certification as Instrument Specialist (CIS) preferred
• Proficiency with steam and low-temperature sterilization required
• Proficiency with instrument tracking systems required
• Valid VA or Compact license required if applicable
• PDF copies of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration — no RTO will be approved after offer

Additional Information

• Assemble surgical instrument trays and case carts according to pick sheets, accurately and completely
• Decontaminate soiled and used supplies and equipment
• Perform required quality monitoring of equipment, instruments, and supplies for cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization
• Operate dispatch phone with supervision, providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service
• Pick up used equipment and supplies from nursing units as needed
• Flu vaccine is required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemption requests must comply with CMS guidelines
• COVID vaccination verification required; exemption requests must comply with CMS guidelines
