Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and proficiency with vents, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies in a Level 3-4 NICU setting.

Details

• 8-week contract, 3x12-hour night shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Level 3-4 NICU setting within a hospital environment
• Neonatal patient population ranging from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age, primarily admitted from labor and delivery
• Conditions treated include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
• Services provided include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, High Frequency Oscillation (HFO), and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
• Nurses respond to neonatal emergencies and attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and STABLE
• CPI certification required for this position
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• Level 3-4 NICU experience required
• Proficiency with ventilators, oscillators, pressors, and care of micro preemies required
• US Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Additional Information

• Nurses assist with bedside procedures including peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and parent teaching
• Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
