American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist for a Diagnostic Monitoring unit, requiring at least 1 year of acute EEG experience and comfort working with patients from infants through adults.

Details

• Works across two settings: a Level III Trauma Center hospital and an affiliated Neurology clinic approximately 5 minutes away
• Patient population spans infants through adults, with common diagnoses including stroke, seizures, new onset AMS, epilepsy, and 24-hour EEG monitoring
• Maximum of 7 patients per day across both the clinic and hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio
• EMR: Meditech
• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 0800–1700
• Rotating on-call schedule every 3rd week — 7 consecutive days (Monday 1700 through the following Monday 0800); callback is infrequent with a 1-hour response time required
• Weekend coverage is on-call basis only
• Holiday coverage may include up to 50% of holidays during the contract on an on-call basis
• Floats between the Neurology Clinic and the Main Hospital; schedule indicates which site in advance

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of acute EEG experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with 2+ years of experience
• BLS required
• REEGT certification from ABRET required; candidates with 10+ years of experience may be considered without this certification
• Must be comfortable working with infants and pediatric patients
• Proficiency in electrode application, 10/20 placement, recording and measuring, pattern recognition, and continuous EEG setup
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth (month and day) required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Team consists of 3 EEG Techs working simultaneously, with management available during day hours
• RNs and CNAs available on the floor for support, and a Neuro provider is present at the clinic
• Will not work alone except when on call
• New employee orientation (NEO) followed by 2–3 department orientation shifts
• Scrubs: any solid color, professional appearance
