American Traveler is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician with 5+ years of experience and leadership/management background for a supervisory role at a large, off-site reprocessing center serving multiple facilities in Bethpage, NY.

Details

• PM shift, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Every third weekend required
• Large, off-site sterile processing reprocessing center that services multiple facilities including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers
• Equipment used includes STERIS Washers and Autoclave
• IT/tracking system: SynergyTrak

Requirements

• CRCST or CSPD certification required; must not expire during the assignment
• Minimum 5 years of relevant sterile processing experience
• Leadership or management experience required; must be noted on resume
• Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Two professional references rated 'standard or above average' from a manager or above within the prior year
• License required if applicable; if NYS DOH license application is in progress, a screenshot or photo of the completed application must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Supervises and coordinates staff and daily operations of Central Sterile services
• Assigns staff to daily job tasks and adjusts assignments as workflow demands
• Serves as liaison between the Central Sterile department and perioperative areas to coordinate activities and resolve issues
• Ensures compliance with sterilization techniques, policies, and procedures, and maintains proper documentation
• Oversees proper care and handling of all instrumentation received through the decontamination area, including accepting and tagging fast tracks
• Scrubs are provided but must be laundered on-site
• Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beards must be covered; nail polish is not permitted
• Free parking is available on-site
