Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience and NICHSPDP certification for a 13-week overnight assignment at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Works in the Sterile Processing department of a Level II Trauma Center
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required (Friday or Saturday night); a compensatory day off during the week is provided when a weekend shift is worked
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
• Midnight shift with minimal supervision — must be able to work independently
• May float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience
• NICHSPDP certification (CSP or CBSPD) required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Active Michigan license required if applicable
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an Aide training program, Central Technician program, or 6 months of prior Central Supply experience also satisfies the education requirement
• Experience with sterilization equipment required
• Must be committed, reliable, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and read temperature gauges

Additional Information

• Prepares and provides sterile products and instruments to members of the healthcare team
• COVID vaccination is mandatory for this position
• Online orientation modules must be completed onsite prior to the start date, typically one week before, with a passing score required
• All time-off requests should be disclosed prior to acceptance of the assignment; requests made after the assignment begins will be subject to manager approval
