American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI.

• Acute care hospital setting at a Magnet-designated academic teaching and referral center in Madison, WI
• Patient populations include adult acute care, ED, ICU, pediatric acute care, and NICU
• Procedures include portable/bedside imaging, fluoroscopy studies (barium swallow, upper GI series, contrast enema), trauma cases (head, facial bones, skull, TMJ), C-arm and mobile surgical procedures, and a full range of upper/lower extremity and spine/pelvis studies
• Equipment includes PACS and fluoroscopy; GE, Philips, and Siemens equipment experience preferred
• Epic EMR required
• Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts from 3:30 PM to 3:30 AM
• Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Thursday
• Standby call and holiday coverage required as needed
• Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience
• ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required; BLS must be issued by the American Heart Association
• State license required if applicable
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred
• Academic teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in portable/bedside procedures, fluoroscopy, trauma imaging, and a broad range of radiographic studies
• Candidate's permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging including portable chest and abdomen, trauma series, fluoroscopy-guided studies, and C-arm-assisted procedures
• Apply infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and radiation safety protocols
• Pass/fail telemetry testing is required prior to start, with a minimum passing score of 80% on both adult and pediatric exams; candidates have two attempts to pass
• Orientation is approximately one week and is held every other week, typically on Mondays; travelers should follow the start date and time provided in their welcome letter
• RTO is generally limited to no more than 2 weeks per contract; consecutive weeks off may result in an extension added to the end of the contract
• Weekend rotations and some holiday coverage are expected
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Parking onsite requires a permit through UW Transportation; bus, park & ride, and private parking options are also available
