American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a high-volume off-site reprocessing center, requiring sterile processing certification and recent tertiary setting experience.

Details

• Work at a large, modern off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services for multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with every other weekend required
• Processes sterile supplies and instruments for tertiary facilities and emergency services
• Rotation through all processing areas, including decontamination
• Utilizes STERIS washers, autoclaves, and SynergyTrak IT system

Requirements

• Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) that does not expire during the assignment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year certified with 4 years of SPT experience in a tertiary setting
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods and lift/carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Experience using STERIS washers, autoclaves, and SynergyTrak preferred
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, and reassembling surgical instruments and medical supplies
• Operates washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, heat sealers, and additional processing equipment
• Adheres to surgical instrument count sheets and protocols for case carts
• Retrieves used trays and equipment from clinical and hospital areas
• Identifies and reports malfunctioning instruments to supervisors or biomedical staff
• Assists with inventory management and maintaining contaminant-free workspace
• Scrubs provided and laundered at the facility; shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered, and no nail polish is allowed
• Free parking is available on site
• Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate if residing within 60 miles
