American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with CRCST and CER certifications and experience in a hospital surgical environment.

Details

• Hospital setting within Central Service department
• Day shift from 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Processes instruments and supplies for specialties including OB-GYN, general surgery, ENT, orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, and urology
• Utilizes steam and gas sterilizers, autoclaves, and endoscopy scope cleaning equipment
• Expected to operate and maintain all sterilization and decontamination equipment

Requirements

• Active CRCST and CER certifications
• Sterile processing experience with both gas and steam sterilizers
• Ability to assemble, wrap, and process trays for a variety of surgical specialties
• Proficient computer and communication skills
• Able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs independently and push/pull up to 100 lbs using assistive devices
• Visual acuity correctable to 20/20 and normal color vision required
• Normal hearing acuity necessary
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of central service supplies and equipment
• Performs daily biological and chemical tests and logs results per hospital protocols
• Expected to participate in training and in-services for new and long-term staff
• Maintains records and documentation related to equipment processing and supply inventory
• Works closely with hospital staff and vendor representatives for equipment and supply needs
• Required to comply with departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement programs
• Exposure risk to blood borne pathogens classified as Category I
• Adheres to all relevant compliance, privacy, and safety policies
