American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with CRCST or CSPD certification and experience in a tertiary care setting for an off-site reprocessing center.

Details

• Work at a large, busy, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center serving multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
• Provides sterile processing services for 9 facilities including emergency reprocessing services
• Shift is 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM with every other weekend required
• Rotation through all areas is needed, including decontamination
• Uses STERIS Washers, autoclave equipment, and SynergyTrak IT system

Requirements

• CRCST or CSPD certification that remains valid for the duration of the assignment
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• At least 2 years of certified sterile processing experience in a tertiary setting, or 1 year of certified experience with 4 years of SPT experience in a tertiary setting
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift/carry up to 25 pounds, and perform manual tasks
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies following manufacturer’s instructions and protocols
• Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, and heat sealers
• Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
• Retrieve used trays and instruments from clinical areas for decontamination
• Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness and proper function; report issues as needed
• Assist with inventory management and maintaining a contaminant-free environment
• Scrubs are provided and must be laundered at the facility; shoes, jewelry, hair, and beards must be covered; no nail polish allowed
