Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) with CRCST or CSPDT certification and experience working in a Level 1 Trauma environment on a day shift schedule.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing Department on a day shift from 6:00AM to 2:30PM, Monday through Friday
• Responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, reassembling, packaging, and sterilizing instrumentation for surgical cases, clinics, and nursing units
• Supports the Operating Room by providing disposable and reusable medical equipment
• Utilizes EPIC for charting and documentation, EPIC experience required
• No local candidates accepted—must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in sterile processing, including Level 1 Trauma experience
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Experience with both manual and mechanical cleaning of reusable instrumentation and equipment
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include re-assembly and packaging of instrument sets, using electronic equipment to inspect electrosurgical instruments, and restocking specialty carts and supply stations
• Position involves both STAT and ASAP customer support needs and requires performing tasks with minimal error
• Documents processing details within the SPD information system and completes work records accurately
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment
• Requested time off may not exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract
• Returning travelers may not be on assignment for more than 1 year and must take a 6-month break before returning
