Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a healthcare facility offering rotating day shifts and requiring BLS and sterile processing certification.

Details

• Work in the Central Sterilization department supporting MEMC OR and other facility services as needed
• Rotating shifts: Tuesday through Friday 8am-6pm and Tuesday through Friday 6am-4pm each week
• Each shift includes call time, including weekends
• Handles decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments and equipment
• Performs multi-step reprocessing procedures including autoclaving and biological monitoring

Requirements

• Certification in Sterile Processing and/or Technology required through CBSPD or HPSA
• Current BLS certification required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare environment preferred
• Knowledge of infection control and inventory management preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail

Additional Information

• Ensures proper functioning of sterilization equipment and arranges for maintenance or repairs if necessary
• Maintains records of all sterilization procedures, validation, and quality assurance checks
• May assist with training and certification of team members on sterilization processes
• Supports ordering, inventory checks, and supply management for Specialty and Primary Care
• Must have flu vaccine prior to starting assignment
• Start date will be at least 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received and processed
