Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist with robotics surgery skills for a main OR position in an acute care hospital, with BLS certification required.

Details

• Work in a main operating room of an acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds
• Robotic surgery experience is required for this position
• Day shifts consist of 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, from 8:40 to 21:10
• On-call required, including 9pm-11pm weekdays and 1-2 call shifts per week
• Must be open to working weekends, with likely frequency greater than every other weekend to meet unit needs
• Floating to the Plaza Surgery Center and within all facilities in the state may be required
• Uses Meditech for charting (EMR experience preferred)
• Scrubs are provided for the operating room

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care surgical technologist experience required
• BLS certification required
• Robotics surgery skills required
• Valid CA surgical technologist license must be in hand before consideration; pending or temporary licenses not accepted (license required if applicable)
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
• Must not live within a 50-mile radius of the facility for traveler eligibility
• Return staff must have a minimum 3-month break before returning as a traveler

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within the state as needed
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; excessive RTO may impact consideration
• Completion of pre-start modules (average 16 hours, self-reported) is required
• Free parking is available onsite
• Must commit to working at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Scrubs are provided for all operating room staff
