Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) for a day shift role with call rotation, requiring NBSTSA certification and a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Details

• Work in a surgical setting under the direct supervision of a surgeon
• Day shift schedule with call rotation
• Assigned to facilitate a variety of invasive surgical procedures
• Must follow a 50-mile radius rule for travelers
• Every other weekend availability may be required by department management

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience required
• Graduate of an accredited trade or technical school with certificate or diploma in surgical technology
• NBSTSA certification required
• Active state license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field and assisting the surgeon during procedures
• Performs supply and equipment checks, gowns and gloves self and team, assists with counts, and passes instruments during surgery
• Assists with terminal cleaning and instrument preparation after procedures
• Provides support and training to new employees and students in the surgical technologist role
• Not permitted to function as a circulator, first assistant, or to administer medications or complete patient records
• Must adhere to facility holiday coverage including Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July
• Travelers may only work two consecutive 13-week assignments at the facility before a required 26-week break
