American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant with current CST and BLS for a hospital OR position requiring Level 1 trauma and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital operating room supporting Level 1 trauma cases
• Day shift position scheduled 4x10s, 7:00AM-5:00PM, with the specific day off to be determined
• On-call required for 3-5 shifts per 4-week period, including some weekday evenings and weekends
• Holiday weeks designate the holiday as the scheduled day off, but call shifts on holidays are 24 hours
• Epic EMR system experience is required

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology required
• Certified through NBSTSA as a CST
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital OR experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Proficiency in scrubbing and first assisting for diverse procedures
• License required if applicable
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) through NCCSA preferred
• English language proficiency required (speak, read, write)
• No local candidates accepted; must live more than 50 miles from facility

Additional Information

• Assist with patient positioning, supplies, and equipment set-up for procedures
• Maintain sterile technique at all times and ensure a safe operative environment
• Perform closure of all layers of skin and knowledgeable of closure techniques
• Provide age-specific care to obstetrical patients when needed
• Perform scrubbing and preceptor duties, including educational support for students and residents
• Operate autoclave sterilization units and assist with room turnover
• Collaborate with nurses in planning and supporting patient care
• Charge for equipment and supplies accurately
• Must not have been on assignment at the facility for more than 1 year without a 6-month break
• RTO not to exceed 7 days in a 13-week contract
• No travel partners accepted on assignment
• Allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screening results
