American Traveler is hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist for a 13-week overnight pediatric sleep lab assignment requiring 2 years of pediatric sleep experience and RPSGT certification.

Details

• Work in a 6-bed pediatric outpatient sleep lab serving patients from 3 months to 20 years old
• Shift schedule is Friday to Sunday, 6:30pm to 7:00am for 12-hour shifts
• Facility operates 7 nights a week with 3 techs on staff when fully staffed
• Patient ratios are typically 1:1 for medically complex or behavioral cases and 1:2 for other patients
• Common procedures include baseline sleep studies, CPAP and BiPAP titrations, and oxygen titration studies
• Techs perform EEG/sleep studies and quality control procedures
• No on-call or holiday coverage is required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years pediatric specific sleep experience required
• Current BLS and RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certifications required
• Experience conducting EEG/sleep studies and quality control procedures required
• Experience with transcutaneous CO2 devices preferred but not required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• License required if applicable

• Duties include facilitating sleep studies and ensuring smooth lab operations
• Techs do not move or lift patients; assistance is provided by parents or nurses
• No medication administration is required
• Position involves all outpatient overnight cases with some medically complex patients
• Studies do not require scoring by techs
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Includes a 3-shift orientation: one night observation, one night observed by another tech, one night with a buddy available for questions
• Facility is closed on holidays
