American Traveler is seeking a Central Sterile Technician with at least three years of experience and CST certification for a sterile processing role.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing Department of a major healthcare facility
• Day shift from 08:00 to 16:30
• Handles surgical instruments and supplies for operating rooms and other hospital units
• Uses sterilizing equipment and performs instrument assembly, packaging, and processing
• Works with EPIC charting system; EMR experience preferred
• Interacts with endoscopy and Da Vinci robotics equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 3 years of experience as a Central Sterile Technician or similar in a healthcare setting
• CST certification (NBSTA or NCCT) required for MA locations; CRCST (HSPA) preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA only accepted)
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing principles and infection control standards
• Ability to stand and walk frequently, lift at least 35 lbs frequently, and perform fine and gross manipulation tasks
• Experience with endoscopic and robotic (Da Vinci) instrumentation and processing
• License required if applicable
• Proof of MA licensure required at the time of consideration; no conditional licenses accepted
• Flu vaccination required; no exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment
• Perform regular quality checks and manage inventory of sterile supplies
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for standard rate; local candidates within this radius will have adjusted pay
• No validated parking provided at Boston locations; public transportation or paid parking required
• Uses UKG/Kronos for timekeeping
• Adheres to strict influenza vaccination policies during flu season
• Standing, lifting, and handling of instruments are frequent physical requirements
