American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with Level I trauma and diverse operative case skills for a hospital-based OR position.

Details

• Hospital-based operating room setting at an acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet facility
• Handles a daily census of 50-60 surgical cases
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM, with one weekend of coverage per month (16 hours total)
• On-call required as needed by the department
• Must be able to float within scope to meet departmental needs
• Patient population includes trauma, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, urology, and plastics
• Uses Cerner EMR (no prior experience required)
• Scrubs are provided

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an OR Tech or Surgical Tech role
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred
• Level I trauma experience required
• Experience required in general OR, teaching hospital, and trauma environments
• Demonstrated skills in ENT, endoscopic, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, oral, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology cases as listed
• Proficiency in the use of drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources
• Competence with aseptic technique, isolation and radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen management, and universal protocol procedures
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
