Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist with vascular surgery expertise to join an acute OR setting, requiring at least 2 years of recent experience.

Details

• Position is in an acute care operating room specializing in vascular surgery procedures
• Work in a department currently with 1 suite, expected to grow as the unit expands
• Patient population includes vascular surgery cases, amputations, and endovascular (IR) procedures
• Average of 3 surgical cases per day
• Scrubbing is required for all procedures
• EPIC is the EMR used, and familiarity is expected
• Shifts are days, typically 2 x 10-hour and 2 x 8-hour shifts weekly, with possible adjustment to 4 x 9-hour shifts as the unit evolves
• Call coverage includes every third weekend (Saturday 7a to Monday 7a) and participation in a holiday call rotation, with a 30-minute response time
• May be required to float to assist other surgical, IR, or SPD teams if qualified

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with CST credential (NCCT not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency in endovascular and vascular surgical procedures
• Active BLS certification is required
• All required licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration; license required if applicable
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR is required

Additional Information

• Hospital-provided scrubs must be worn while on duty
• Role involves scrubbing for a broad range of vascular procedures, including amputations and endovascular IR cases
• Unit-specific orientation includes scrubbing with a hospital surgical tech for the first week
• Charge nurse and/or house supervisor present during all shifts
• Team-based environment with support from OR techs and nursing leadership
• No COVID-19 vaccine required for this assignment
• No geographic radius restriction; local candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles may be subject to local rates
• Participation in a holiday call rotation is required
