American Traveler is hiring an experienced Monitor Technician (EKG Technologist) with EKG or CCT/CRAT certification and BLS for a day shift assignment in cardiac monitoring.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting on the Monitor Tech unit
• Responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring and interpretation for an assigned patient population
• Day shift schedule with five 8-hour shifts per week from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Role includes both cardiac monitoring and direct bedside care under RN supervision
• Patient care tasks include assisting with ADLs, taking vital signs, and other delegated duties

Requirements

• Active CA license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• EKG certification or CCT/CRAT required
• Minimum of 2 years Monitor Tech or EKG experience required
• CNA highly preferred
• Must be able to perform accurate cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include generating, reading, and interpreting monitor strip printouts and promptly communicating cardiac rhythm changes
• Provides direct patient care, assists with ADLs, vital signs, and other nursing support tasks under RN supervision
• Supports the care plan through patient interaction, education, and technical competence
• Expected to maintain equipment and ensure timely completion of routine and priority tasks
• Mentors students and new team members to foster a supportive environment
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract acceptance
• Candidates may only take 1 holiday off during the assignment
• Previous employees must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
