American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room Technician First Assist for a hospital main OR and women's unit, requiring CFSA or CST certification and 2 years of surgical technician experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room position covering both main OR and women's unit
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekday call required from the end of shift until 7:00 AM the next morning
• Weekend and holiday call required from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM the following day

Requirements

• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFSA) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from a recognized program
• BLS certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Two years surgical technician experience required
• Minimum of one year experience as a surgical tech first assist
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of a certified surgical technician program and a recognized first assistant training program
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• First Assist supports surgeons during procedures including positioning and prepping patients, using surgical instruments, controlling bleeding, closing surgery sites, and dressing wounds
• May be expected to perform the surgical tech role as needed throughout the week
• Collaborates with physicians and surgical team to ensure quality post-operative care
• RTO (requested time off) must be declared in advance for consideration
• Holiday call coverage is required
