American Traveler seeks an experienced OR Tech - First Assist with BLS and surgical tech certification for a hospital operating room position.

Details

• Work in a hospital main OR and Women’s surgical unit
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Weekday call coverage is required from the end of the shift through 7:00 AM the following day
• Weekend and holiday call coverage is required from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM the following day

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of a certified surgical technician program and a recognized first assistant training program
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFSA) through CAAHEP or ABHES, or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• At least two years of surgical technician experience
• At least one year of experience as a surgical tech first assist
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing direct support to surgeons including positioning and prepping patients, using retractors and sponges, controlling bleeding, and closing surgery sites with sutures or staples
• Expected to cover surgical tech responsibilities in addition to first assist duties as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care
• Dress code and attire should comply with hospital rules for the OR environment
