American Traveler is seeking a part-time Dialysis Technician with at least 2 years of acute care dialysis experience and CCHT certification.

Details

• Part-time schedule of 24 hours per week
• Shifts are Monday and Thursday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• Work weekends as needed per unit requirements
• Work primarily in the dialysis unit with collaboration across ICU and Vascular Access departments
• Care for patients with acute and chronic renal failure on hemodialysis

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of dialysis experience in an acute care setting
• Valid CA license required if applicable
• Current BLS and NNCC CCHT certifications required
• Proficiency with dialysis equipment, including T Machines and Myron L. Meters
• Ability to perform arterial and venous pressure monitoring, dialysate and conductivity testing, and manage alarms
• Experience with documentation of dialysis treatment and patient care
• Two professional supervisory references from the past two years required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include prepping AV fistula/graft access, priming circuits and dialyzers, monitoring vital signs, and post-treatment access care
• Must be comfortable providing patient education and addressing complications such as hypotension, muscle cramps, and blood leaks
• Infection control, isolation precautions, and emergency response skills are required
• All travelers must pass a RELIAS EKG exam prior to start and complete an on-site EKG exam during orientation
• Pre-start training modules are required and tracked by transcripts
• Return staff considered on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• All time-off requests must be submitted up front
