American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with recent cardiac operating room experience for a varied shift hospital assignment.

Details

• Work primarily in the operating room with a focus on cardiac open heart procedures
• Assignment involves caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• May be required to assist in all areas of the OR as needed
• Varied shifts with rotating weekends and call expected

Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent scrubbing experience in CVOR/open heart procedures or 2 years acute care scrubbing experience required
• Cardiac surgery experience is required for consideration
• Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon required if applicable
• BLS certification (Healthcare Provider) required
• Acceptable backgrounds include: graduation from an accredited surgical technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES), relevant military training, or documented prior practice per state guidelines
• 16 hours of continuing education every two years relevant to surgical technology (unless applying within 12 months of completing an accredited program)
• Experience or training with computer applications is preferred

Additional Information

• Functions as a core surgical team member under the supervision of an RN in a collaborative team setting
• Responsible for providing quality care to patients during surgery and procedural sedation
• Works with a multidisciplinary team supporting a variety of surgical specialties
• Care is provided to both outpatients and admitted hospital patients
• Facility may refuse or terminate assignments for cause
