American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of one year cardiac ultrasound experience and current RCS or RDCS certification.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting within the echocardiography department
• Shift schedule is Monday to Friday with 8-hour day shifts and rotational weekend coverage
• Variable start times ranging between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
• Possible on-call coverage may be required
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with occasional adolescents and pediatrics
• Procedures include transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, dobutamine and treadmill exercise stress echo, carotid duplex studies, and stress testing
• Use of both stationary and portable ultrasound equipment
• Travelers may be required to float to other units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of cardiac experience required
• Registered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS)
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required
• Graduate of an ultrasonography program required
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonography program preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Ultrasonography, Radiology, Biological Sciences, or a related health sciences field preferred
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Independently perform cardiac ultrasound assessments and document results to assist in patient care decisions
• Assist with echo, stress tests, and other non-invasive studies
• Serve as a clinical instructor for ultrasound students and participate in training for fellows, residents, and physicians
• May participate in clinical research and serve as a clinical resource within the facility
• Pass/fail telemetry exam required with strict criteria before beginning the assignment
• First-time travelers may be accepted in some units
• Up to two weeks of requested time off per contract may be considered
• Holiday and weekend rotations may be required
• Parking permit required for onsite parking; alternative transportation options available
• Scrub or dress code required per department policy
