American Traveler is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist for a hospital operating room position with 12-hour day shifts and call coverage.

Details

• Position is based in the hospital main operating room and Women's OR
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Weekday call required from end of shift to 7:00 AM the following morning
• Weekend and holiday call required from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM the following day
• First assists may be expected to fulfill surgical technician duties as needed throughout the week

Requirements

• Graduate of a certified surgical technician program and a recognized first assistant training program
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFSA) certification through CAAHEP or ABHES or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least two years of surgical technician experience
• Minimum of one year experience as a surgical tech first assist
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide direct intraoperative support to surgeons, including instrument handling, controlling bleeding, and wound closure
• Assist with positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery
• Ensure clear visibility for the surgeon and maintain a sterile environment
• Collaborate with the surgical team to support proper post-operative care
• Coverage for both main operating room and Women's OR as required
