Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 2 years of recent Level 1 trauma OR experience for a hospital operating room assignment.

Details

• Position is in a hospital operating room, working both inpatient and outpatient ORs
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours each, with shifts from 6:45 to 19:15
• Regular floating required between different hospital pavilions within surgical scope
• On-call required with call shifts every 6 weeks
• Care is provided for a range of surgical cases from minor to complex procedures
• EPIC EMR experience is required

Requirements

• Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Colorado DORA license required for CSTs; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 1 trauma OR within the past year
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass a drug screening, including THC, prior to assignment
• Must be willing and able to float within clinical scope

Additional Information

• Duties include scrubbing for minor, major, and complex surgical procedures
• Responsible for anticipating surgical team needs and maintaining the sterile field
• Performs surgical counts under RN supervision and assists in room turnover
• Must consult with team members regarding departmental policies as needed
• Pre-start compliance modules are completed online and average 4 hours
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• No more than 5 days of time off may be requested for a 13-week contract
• No time off is permitted during the first week of assignment
• Monthly parking cost applies and sign-up is required
• Facility is a drug and alcohol-free workplace and requires a negative drug test for all panels
