American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level III trauma facility, requiring 2 years of experience and strong neuro and cardiac skills.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 24 beds and telemetry capability on all beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned to pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, adjusted based on acuity
• Strong neuro and cardiac skill sets are essential for this unit
• Charting is performed using Sunrise Allscripts (EMR)
• 12-hour night shifts
• Floating required to all Med/Surg units and the ICU for Med/Surg overflow patients
• Level III Trauma facility
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• PALS preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong neuro and cardiac clinical skills required
• Allscripts/Sunrise EMR experience is a plus

• Unit is supported by telemetry techs, a charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs in any color except all black are required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• 8-hour orientation included
