American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with strong cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience for an OR position in a hospital setting.

Details

• Position is based in a hospital operating room with possible floating to multiple units or locations as needed
• Patient population includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Cardiac, thoracic, and transplant surgeries are the primary focus; ortho trauma, eye, ENT, and neuro experience is helpful
• Day shift with 3x12 hour shifts per week, scheduled 10:40 to 23:10
• Travelers may be reassigned to different departments to fulfill contract requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required
• Strong experience in cardiac, thoracic, and transplant cases including heart and lung surgeries
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Completion of a surgical technologist program or two years' experience in a Surgical Technologist role in lieu of program completion
• Traveler’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from primary work site location
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining patient safety, assisting surgeons, and caring for instruments during procedures
• Must be adaptable to floating between units or locations based on staffing needs
• All requested time off (RTO) is subject to approval and not guaranteed

• Parking on site requires a permit; bus, park & ride, and private parking options are available
• Position may be in a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized academic hospital
