Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with CRCST or CSPD certification and strong experience for an overnight shift in a large, advanced off-site reprocessing center.

Details

• Work in a high-volume, state-of-the-art off-site sterile processing center supporting multiple hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
• Overnight shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with every other weekend required
• Must rotate through all areas including decontamination
• Processes sterile supplies and equipment for emergency and surgical services
• Utilizes STERIS washers, autoclaves, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and related equipment
• Uses SynergyTrak for inventory IT management

Requirements

• Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) required and must remain valid throughout the assignment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience with tertiary center background, otherwise 2+ years required
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and tolerate long periods of standing, bending, lifting, and reaching
• Manual dexterity and ability to communicate effectively in English required
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references from previous managers in current discipline/specialty from the prior year required

Additional Information

• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, reassembles, and packages medical instruments and supplies per protocols and manufacturer instructions
• Retrieves and decontaminates used trays and instruments from multiple clinical areas
• Performs equipment functionality checks and promptly reports issues
• Handles department inventory and assists with stocking duties
• Complies with strict dress code: scrubs provided and laundered onsite, shoes, jewelry, hair, and facial hair must be covered, and no nail polish allowed
