Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist with strong cardiac surgery skills and an active VA license for a hospital cardiovascular OR assignment.

Details

• Work in a hospital cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting
• Shift options include 6a-4:30p, 9a-7:30p, or 6a-7:30p, typically 8-hour shifts
• Cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical caseload, including major and complex procedures such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, Mitraclip, organ transplant, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices
• Adult patient population with occasional pediatric cases
• Call required 1-2 weekdays per week and 1-2 weekends per 6-week schedule (approx. 1 weekend per month)
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active VA surgical technologist license required for consideration; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of recent complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular scrub experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential and state registration required at time of consideration
• Strong ability to multitask and critical thinking skills
• Experience with adult cardiac OR procedures required; pediatric scrub experience a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Additional Information

• Participate in a wide array of complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including research protocol cases
• Holiday coverage required for one major summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) as needed
• Requested time off will be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13-week assignment
• Department emphasizes teamwork and professionalism
• May be required to work overtime as needed
