Description

American Traveler is seeking an EEG Technologist with at least 2 years of experience, BLS certification, and proficiency in EEG procedures for a day-shift assignment.

Details

• Position is in a short-term acute care hospital setting with primary coverage in neuro diagnostics
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, five 8-hour day shifts
• Patient volume is approximately 60 EEG procedures per month
• Responsibilities may include work in the adult ICU, ER, and portable EEG in ICU settings
• Clinician may occasionally be asked to cover nearby locations within scope of practice
• Charting is performed in Epic EMR; experience preferred
• Equipment includes Natus Xltek EEG equipment; experience preferred
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of EEG technologist experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with electrode placement, portable recording in ICU, sleep and sleep-deprived EEG required
• License required if applicable
• Valid MO license required; for IL candidates, pending IL license acceptable for consideration
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Experience with ECI Brain Death studies, Portable Recording PICU, and long-term monitoring is preferred
• Prior EKG or Holter application skills are a plus

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted
• No local candidates permitted within a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
• Scrub colors are wine or ceil blue preferred
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay up to 12 months and must take a 6-month break before returning
• Job duties include EEG acquisition and monitoring in various hospital departments
