American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring proficiency in vascular and hybrid surgical cases.

Details

• Work in a hospital CVOR setting
• Specializes in cardiac, vascular, and hybrid vascular cases, including EVAR and TCAR
• Handles a range of procedures such as coronary artery bypass, aortic and mitral valve surgeries, minimally invasive heart valve surgery, ECMO, and interventional cases involving wires and catheters
• Schedule consists of 4x10 hour shifts from 0600 to 1630
• Assists with emergency cases and requires readiness to troubleshoot complex OR equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing Program, military training program in surgical technology, or 3+ years of equivalent prior experience
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
• Proficiency in vascular OR procedures and hybrid case techniques
• Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure manuals, communicate effectively, and perform basic math calculations
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Performs all technical duties in the CVOR and adheres to proper aseptic and sterile techniques
• Responsible for the assembly, maintenance, handling, and sterilization of specialty instrumentation
• Performs surgical counts, labels and monitors drugs and solutions, and handles surgical specimens
• Actively participates in instrument and supply planning and set up for each procedure
• Mentors and teaches new hires, trainees, and Surgical Tech peers
• Identifies and reports defective instruments, restocks OR and sub-sterile areas, and verifies emergency carts
• Assists in team-based patient positioning and intraoperative nursing practices
• Participates in research data collection under RN supervision
• Daily cleaning and maintenance duties are expected
• Strict deadlines exist for background checks and drug screen completion following commitment
• Professional behavior and collaboration with surgeons and team members are essential
