American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 2 years of experience and a current BLS for an ambulatory OR and community hospital role.

Details

• Work in an ambulatory operating room and community hospital setting with a patient census of 10-15 per day
• Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations for a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedics, robotics, bariatrics, OBGYN, general surgery, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, and more
• Primary orthopedic cases include arthroscopy, total joints, ORIF, and spine procedures, along with extensive use of robotic and advanced surgical equipment such as Hana Table, Jackson Table, and Trumpf Robotics Table
• Call is required with a 20 minute response time for overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Valid CST credential and BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross are required
• Minimum of 2 years recent relevant CST experience
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, or military training as a scrub tech, with HS diploma or GED
• Must have current CA state license if applicable
• Strong general knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, and aseptic technique
• Experience with advanced surgical procedures in multiple specialties preferred
• Must be able to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• Two recent (within one year) professional references required

Additional Information

• Responsible for preparing and maintaining a sterile field, supporting surgeons, passing instruments, and anticipating surgical needs
• Handles equipment setup, maintenance, and quality control, as well as some clerical duties related to EHR and supply documentation
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding PHI and adheres to all safety and compliance standards
• Modules required during orientation, completed via e-learning and included in onboarding
• Only one holiday off will be approved as RTO
• Must comply with a 50-mile travel radius; local candidates accepted at a local rate
• Return travelers must have been away for at least one year to be eligible
