Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with trauma center experience for a mandatory float position at a Level I trauma facility.

Details

• Work in a hospital operating room supporting a variety of surgical specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Trauma, and more
• Day shift, 5x8s, 6:30am - 3:00pm with on-call 1 weekend every 4 weeks (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am)
• Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month required
• Mandatory floating between units and facilities within a 50-mile range, notification provided up to 2 hours before shift
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Level I or II trauma center or large teaching hospital
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential in Illinois via NBSTSA or NCCT
• Active BLS certification
• Experience across multiple surgical services including adult and pediatric specialties
• Proof of COVID vaccination required
• IL license required if applicable
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius to be considered as a local

Additional Information

• Be prepared to float outside of your primary competency with team-based support as needed
• Strict compliance with documentation and timeline requirements including lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Maximum 5 days requested time off per contract, no more than 2 consecutive days, and no weekend or holiday RTO permitted
• No block scheduling or special schedule accommodations allowed
• Compliance documentation deadlines must be met prior to orientation
• Professional scrubs required
• Locals within 75 miles are accepted and preferred
