American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with ophthalmology and multi-specialty OR experience for a hospital surgical services position.

Details

• Work in a hospital OR setting with a focus on surgical and endoscopic procedures
• Day shifts with 4x10 hour schedules, ranging from 7:00 to 17:30 or 11:00 to 21:30
• On-call and rotating weekend shifts are required
• Proficiency in ophthalmology, including cataract and vitrectomy cases, is necessary
• Must have experience in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgeries
• Epic EMR experience is preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care hospital experience as a surgical technologist
• Travel experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or documented on-the-job training preferred
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• NBSTSA CST certification required
• Must hold a valid CA surgical technologist license (license required if applicable)
• All certifications must be current and in hand at the time of consideration
• Ability to competently scrub major procedures in at least three surgical specialties
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing competent scrub services for both minor and major procedures across several specialties
• Technical subject matter expert duties may be assigned for at least one surgical service
• Assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, supporting the surgeon, anesthesia staff, and circulating nurse
• Contribute to maintaining specialty instruments and physician preference lists
• Participate in operating room sanitation, use of sterilization equipment, and restocking supplies
• May serve as preceptor to staff and take part in staff training or orientation activities
• Only one approved holiday time off request will be granted per contract
• Return staff must have been gone for at least one year to be eligible as travelers
• 50-mile radius requirement applies; local candidates are accepted at the local rate
• Completion of hospital-required e-learning modules during orientation is expected
